Accomplishments
October 2005- September 2006
- Title III positions were filled.
- 43 new Dell computers were purchased to upgrade the computer labs.
- Axis TV, a campus communication system has been installed.
- 15 computers were purchased and distributed to faculty.
- Installed wireless capability for the campus. Academic buildings, Greenhouse and the Student activity center is now wireless for students and faculty.
- 12 of 16 submissions for mini grants were either totally or partially funded.
- 10 computers were purchased as replacements for systems in the classrooms.
- A Technology Skills/Interest/Needs Assessment was conducted via the web.
- Videoconferencing equipment was installed in the Halterman Hall Conference room. Halterman Hall 124 was equipped as a distance education classroom.
- Professional Development offered:
- “Writing for the Web”
- “What makes an Online Student Successful? Research and Remedies”
- One on one faculty development assistance included:
- Carmen training
- Mini-grant research
- Data conversions and transfers
- PowerPoint
- Moving classes online
- A high end computer was purchased to use for one-on-one training and to provide a resource for faculty projects which may be beyond the capabilities on their office computers.
- Created a library of material for faculty resources.
