Financial Aid Awards
If you have received an official award letter that contains an offer
of grants, scholarships, Perkins Loan* and/or Direct Loan**, this aid will
show as a credit on your STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT (the quarterly bill for
tuition and fees).
* To receive the Perkins, you must complete and sign a promise to repay, also known as a promissory note. You will be noticied by e-mail when the electronic promissory note is available. The e-mail will directo you to the Office of the Treasurer web site at Student Loan Services for your signature. If you prefer to sign a paper note, the web site will give you an option to request a paper copy, which will be mailed to whatever address you request. Once the note is completed, signed, and if paper, returned to Student Loan Services, Room 250, Lincoln Tower, the funds will be disbursed into your account.
** If you accept all or parts of the Director Loan, a Master Promisorry Note (MPN) is required. You must go to the electronic MPN web site at http://dlenote.ed.gov to complete one. You will need to have your federal Personal Identification Number
(PIN). Request a PIN at pin.ed.gov. In addition, students must also complete online entrance counseling, located at http://www.dl.ed.gov.
Satisfactory Academic
Progress
In addition to meeting financial eligibility guidelines, you must maintain
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as defined by The Ohio State University.
If you fail to comply with the SAP policy, all of your federal and institutional
dollars will be withdrawn.
