Student Success Services at Ohio State ATI enhances
and supports the academic mission of the Institute while also providing
a dynamic out-of-class experience for students. Student Success Services
is a centralized and coordinated set of academic/student support
services
designed to promote achievement of both educational and personal goals.
The specific student-centered programs offered through Student Success
Services include Counseling Services, Office for Disability Services,
Peer Tutoring and Program EXCEL, which includes professional tutoring,
supplemental instruction,
academic mentor study groups, and academic advising. A computer lab
is also available in Student Success Services.

The Counseling Office provides assistance to students in their personal
and academic growth. As a college student, you will encounter many
new and different experiences. You will be making many important decisions
regarding courses, majors, career planning and personal concerns.
Counseling
can help you learn to make better decisions and develop greater confidence
in academic and personal abilities, acquire a greater awareness and
appreciation of your needs, and to learn to cope more effectively with
life experiences.
Counseling services are provided on a confidential and voluntary basis.
Counseling is available on an individual basis. Appointments are arranged
to fit your schedule,
and services are free to any currently enrolled Ohio State ATI student.

Ohio State University ATI is committed to providing reasonable academic
support services to persons with documented disabilities as defined
by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans With
Disabilities Act of 1990. The Office for Disability Services (ODS) coordinates
support services for students with disabilities and is an accommodation
resource for faculty and staff. Types of disabilities include but are
not limited to learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder (ADD),
mobility impairments, hearing and visual impairments, psychiatric, and
medical disabilities.
Accommodations
ODS provides reasonable accommodations, auxiliary aides, and support
services that are designed to meet the specific needs of each individual
and are based on disability documentation. Although ODS coordinates
services, the faculty and other campus departments are instrumental
in providing services as well. General services may include but are
not limited to the following:
Exam accommodations
Disability counseling and advocacy
Priority scheduling
Alternative media, e.g., taped textbooks, enlarged print, Braille,
etc.
Access to class notes
Sign language interpreters

Registration and orientation consultation
Accessible housing
Faculty/staff resource on student disability issues
Eligibility
In order to receive services from ODS, documentation of the disability
from an appropriate professional is required. The nature and type of
documentation required depends upon the specific disability. Students
are responsible for supplying the documentation, which should be a recent
evaluation (within the last three years). Specific questions regarding
appropriate documentation can be addressed directly to ODS.
Grievances regarding accessibility should be addressed to either the
ODS or Student Success Services at 287-1247.

Peer Tutoring offers:
Free tutoring for nearly every course taught at Ohio State ATI.
Desire and a commitment to improve in the class are all that
is necessary.
Offers employment to students approved by faculty to tutor other
students.
Opportunity to work with a student who has taken the class.
